A Collection of Snapshots of My Life
Not in any particular order. So, then, tomorrow, a Saturday, I'll get to see Charlotte and Eden along with mom Carol. I say we walk to the garage sale on the sign up the street on the corner. 8-4 Saturday. Also going to experience The Nosh. A vegan/vegetarian micro-eatery near downtown Des Moines I think. A better diet is definitely something smart to invest in. A lot of people believe in the Mediterranean Diet. Whatever your dietary flavors and however deep your pockets may be, in my mind, it's simply a matter of basic caloric balance. And, as it happens, in fact, the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) weighs such a balance based on factors such as age and weight and probably others I'm no expert just an interested and inquiring consumer is all. It considers your activity level and, when all the ingredients of that recipe are mixed into one the result is a Daily Caloric Intake versus Daily Caloric Exhaust - if I may be so allowed to be downright humerus? Inflow of energy versus outflow of energy remembering that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. For example, a 307 lb. lard ass like I was at one point recently, and about a half inch shy of 6' tall, that's a BMI of about 43. When I look to my paternal uncles, none of them are other than near or at their ideal weights. That's how I've always known them. Maybe one a little more beef for dinner side than the others except for my Dad. He sported a belly similar to mine for at least the last fifteen years of his life and he lived to be 72. A cerebral aneurism and comorbid a-fib (untreated) zapped him so bad he ended up choosing hospice and end of life rather than trying to rehabilitate - given all things in totality. It's 16 years give or take until I'd be Dad Bernie's age if I look at it soberly anyway. I've gone ahead and micro-managed, diagnosed, prognosed and proposed I shall live yet another 15 years or early 70's so long as I adhere to certain dietary and exercise regimens. Ultimately, the key issue always settles down to revolve weight. And metabolism associatively.
I don't know what his weight was when he died too long ago but it had to be pushing the 300 mark. Like father like son.
